yeah snow! too bad it's melting already.

meant to upload these the other night - just another ride home on the 4 train. right.

the forte is still growing... i wish i liked the building.

I knew what I was going to get when I arrived in Waikiki... tourist central. And I think I kept my mouth shut most of the time, except for the hour or so in the Apple store doing some work, "Why would someone come all the way to Waikiki to go shopping?!" Don't get me wrong, we went to the mall... for the needed items, but people were just there to shop, to browse the Macys, Gap, Tiffany's, Old Navy etc. because you know, the Gap is SO different then the one at home, and you can say you bought those jeans in HAWAII. Then yesterday I saw this quote in Travel and Leisure.



Exactly.

I went for the sun... sand... kona... margaritta's... waves... rainbows... and of course, cause i was invited!!!

Perhaps it was the vacation - a much needed break from the city - but coming home from work today my eyes were OPEN again! The whole place seemed so alive. Coming out of the store I came across the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble playing on 14th street to a very enthusiastic crowd. A few songs in into it and I too am an owner of a cd. You should check em out if you can, they seem to be around town a lot since finding their way from Chicago. The Nytimes just did an article on them too. Very cool indeed and made me glad to be back in the city!

back home to the freezing east coast. god i wish i could take my shoes off and walk to work along the beach instead of trudging through the snow to the subway tomorrow. reality sets in. check out the photos here
